Early Years Practitioner
More and more schools abroad are seeking out qualified and experience pre-school teachers from the United Kingdom and Europe to bring over the teaching standards and curriculum from the West.
Teachers from Europe are more in demand than ever, finding placements in international schools across the World.
A Pre-School Teacher is responsible for the care, development and education of her students; usually ranging from 0 to 5 years old.
These "Early Years Practitioners" will manage their classrooms, with the support of assistants, to ensure that the environment is safe and stimulating for the children within the guidance of set international curriculum and guidelines (for example implementing the British EYFS framework).
In addition to planning and implementing stimulating lessons to fast-track children's learning, pre-school teachers will encourage development through play and organise creative and intuitive activities to engage and inspire their students.
Pre-school teachers will also be responsible for keeping detailed records of student development and liaising with parents and other staff.
Pre-school teachers recruited for placements with international schools will be provided with accommodation by the institution - usually within the school premises or nearby. This accommodation may be a separate property, or could be shared with other members of staff (but will always be a private bedroom and bathroom). Alternatively, schools can offer an accommodation allowance.
8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Potentially with overtime.
Pre-school teachers can expect to earn from £2000 to £4000 net per month with a return flight each year to their home country and travel expenses (visa, medical etc) covered.
Some schools can offer relocation packages and schooling scholarships for dependants.
